Description: come and learn the fundamentals of knitting, including cast on, knit, and purl. We will teach you the basics you will need to know to make a hat. While the class is free, supplies must be purchased at Knitting Hive. This class is for ages 14 and up.
Prior skills recommended: No prior skills needed.
Materials needed (supplies need to be purchased at store):
- We will be using a free pattern from Ravelry.com. We will have a pattern printed up for you at the store.
- You can use any bulky weight yarn, 100 yards, U.S. size 10 needles, and U.S. size 10 dpn. Come and ask at Knitting Hive, and we will show exactly what you need.

Join us for a fun and relaxing beginner’s crochet class, where you’ll master the basic stitches and techniques to get started on your crochet journey. Whether you’ve never held a hook before or are looking to refresh your skills, this class will guide you through the essentials of creating beautiful, handmade pieces.

Description
This isn’t a formal, step-by-step class, it’s a friendly meetup for those who already know how to knit, purl, cast on, cast off, and pick up stitches. While there’s no strict curriculum, we’ll guide you through key sweater-making skills like swatching, tackling a yoke, working short rows, and separating the body and sleeves.

Registration is now open for our Fiber Arts Summer Camp, for all youth interested in learning knit and crochet!
When: One week session in June (select from three available weeks), every day Monday-Friday from 9-11 am
Who: Youth age 8-18
Skill level: beginner to advanced beginner
Kids will learn basic skills of knit and crochet in a week! The first two days we’ll learn crochet where your kid can pick out their favorite wooble and make their very own stuffed animal! The last two days kids will pick between a knitted scarf or hat and leave with the understanding of how to complete these projects and start new ones.
